Hi, I’m Jacob

About me

I’m a digital designer, a nerd, and a lifelong learner.

I’ve always been curious about how things work. I like pulling things apart, figuring out why something works the way it does, and learning just enough about a new subject to become dangerously interested in it. I’m the person who will look up one random question and somehow end up three hours later reading about something completely unrelated.

I like games, good stories, and things that give me an excuse to think. I play D&D, I love Star Wars, and I watch a frankly unreasonable amount of Survivor (and now Big Brother). I enjoy finding patterns, learning new things, and getting way too invested in things that probably don't warrant that level of attention.

LIFE OUTSIDE WORK

Meet the real stars of the portfolio.

I have two dogs: Obi, a husky/poodle mix with considerably more personality than he knows what to do with, and Rusty, a very sweet lab who is just happy to be here.

They take up a disproportionate amount of my camera roll, make regular appearances during work-from-home meetings, and have collectively convinced me that most things can wait until after a walk.

I spend a lot of time talking about them, introducing them to people, and rearranging my schedule around them.

I'm aware of this.

I've made peace with it.
